Debate Club

Two teams from our Debate Club participated in our first formal debate in the School Hall on Thursday 12 October. The motion was ‘ultra-processed food should be banned’ and the triumphant team were the opposition who successfully convinced the judges that ultra-processed food should not be banned, but that people should be educated and supported to make healthier food choices.

All participants articulated their views impressively with Victoria O, the opposition captain, given the accolade of best individual performance by the judges. Our next debate, scheduled for 7 December, will examine whether the law around Dangerous Dogs should change in light of several tragic incidents in the news recently.
