Celebratory Barbecue

Following our very memorable ‘Mass of Thanksgiving’ on Thursday morning, pupils and staff were later invited to a barbecue lunch, provided by ‘Il Cenacolo’ staff.

Fortunately, the recent fine summer weather continued into the afternoon and the barbecue was enjoyed both indoor and ‘al fresco’ with a disco.

School catering manager Mr Callagher and his team cooked up the delicious barbecue feast, that provided everyone with a healthy summer lunch. The team had been busy preparing the burgers, halal and veggie burgers for over 450 throughout the morning. Accompanying the main dishes was a varied salad bar and for dessert, there was a wide range of different ice-lollies to cool the pupils down on what eventually became a warm summer’s afternoon!

The barbecue has now become an important annual event in our calendar and provides a wonderful opportunity for both pupils and staff to share lunch together.

Business Development Director, Mrs Wallace, who organises the event said: ‘This year we have had to split into our individual year groups because of the pandemic restrictions but everyone enjoyed the occasion. The annual summer barbecue is always a great fun and relaxing event. Every pupil is provided with a free meal to celebrate the end of term and it highlights the fantastic food that is produced by our catering team.’

Pupils can always enjoy a daily meal deal with a main course, dessert and drink for £2.40 at our school.
