Scouting Success

Congratulations to year 10 pupil, Ruby, who has been awarded with the highest achievement that a Scout can attain, ‘The Chief Scouts Gold Award’.

Ruby joined the Scouts seven years ago and has been working towards this particular badge for over three years. In order to complete the award, she has completed all nine Challenge Awards, plus six Activity Badges. She has been on several camps, engaged n various activities including canoeing and raft building. The fourteen-year-old has been tested physically, mentally in the challenges and also took part in charity work by packing bags at Morrisons. Ruby was one of just three Scouts at the 7th Preston Scout group who were awarded the prestigious Gold Award in November 2021.

Chosen to be a ‘Young Leader’ at Scouts, she has demonstrated fantastic communication, leadership, and social skills. These important attributes together with her blatant commitment will assist her in eventually realising her career dream of joining the Police force.

Ruby has worked hard to attain this award and is delighted. She now wishes to progress onto the next stage of leadership, joining the Explorers group, then hoping to pursue her ultimate goal within the Scouting world which would involve meeting the Queen.
